Alex East

 

 

Alex has been DJing for over 25 years. Yes, I know he doesn’t look it. He started in the pubs and clubs of his native Buckinghamshire, where he also dipped his toe in the waters of Hospital Radio.

After a couple of years of torturing the already suffering patients at Wycombe General, and creating the first incarnation of Eastie’s Pub Quiz, he decided to move to Spain to ply his trade over there.

He spent two very successful years in Mallorca, working as a DJ and compare in several top pubs and clubs. Eastie’s Pub Quiz became a firm favourite with the holiday makers and ex pat residents.

In the early 90s he moved back to the UK and began writing a book on his favourite topic (Not himself, as you’d imagine) Rock ‘n’ Roll music.

“The Encyclopedia of Rock ‘n’ Roll” was finally finished and published in 2007.

The new millennium saw another move, this time further afield to the USA, fulfilling a lifelong dream of his to live Stateside.

In late 2007 he decided to transition the popular “Eastie’s Pub Quiz” to radio and created the new radio format. He also indulged his first love, Rock ‘n’ Roll with the “It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll” radio show. The latter being a mix of music, headlines and adverts from the golden era of rock ‘n’ roll music.

The two radio shows are now heard around the world, from the UK to Chile.

He now resides in California with his lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
